I was giving and helping but people always took it for granted and abused it. It made me depressed because my value was only for what i give. This made me bitter and miserable. Idk how to change my mindset that others are not kind or helpful as me, because for me, helping and being kind is normal. Its hard to fathom that most of the people are selifsh and only try to get what they want, never caring for others, even family

Trust me, I gave up helping and giving years ago because people will always take the piss out of your kindness and willingness to give a little extra at work. Other than a sense of doing a good deed, you get nothing back ever.

This is probably true. Is there a point where things flip from people dont deserve my help to everyone is so nice I just want to help them? No matter how hard I tried, my help never made people deserve that help. Maybe it was just the fact that I was trying. All that to say there's more to these lessons than just a single saying. People are complex.
