Low Ferritin and Hair Loss

preview_player
Показать описание
Low ferritin without low hemoglobin is iron deficiency without anemia.

One of the signs of low ferritin is chronic hair loss.

If you have hair loss, it's essential that you increase your ferritin to 70 or more nanograms per milliliter for at least 3 months to stop hair loss and see regrowth occur.

Make sure you are also consuming enough protein to maintain the infrastructure you need to grow vibrant hair.

Hi Doc! You are 100% correct. I had hair loss for almost 2 years. My ferritin was 18, 41, 43, 71. Once I got into 71 with my ferritin my hair STOPPED falling out!!!! It was amazing! It got really thick for about 6 months....BUTTTT.. my ferritin fell again and I'm back down to 41, and my hair started to fall out again. It so hard to keep your ferritin up!!! But I will keep working on it. Thank you for posting!!!

My GP had my ferretin levels checked and it was 24 and said it was normal. I got my blood tested because of hair loss and she didn’t consider this was causing the issue or say anything else other than my levels were normal. Thank you so much for this video!!!! I had no idea

My ferritin is 23 😭

My hair is thinning, and feel very weak and fatigued all day. So I started taking Iron tablets high strength, first few days I feel like my energy is coming back and need less coffee to carry on my day. It is honestly amazing how much energy I got back. I am going to stick with the iron tablets till I am over 70, hopefully my hair grows back!

Thanks for this video!!

I so appreciate this video. My ferritin has gone from 10 to 17 in the past three months after starting an iron supp, which I now know is very low, but my doctor says it's normal. I've also been having significant hair loss the past year which has been extremely difficult to deal with, but my doctor doesn't believe me that it's even happening. I really want to try the iron supplement you have linked because the one I've been using has been giving my already hypersensitive gut a lot of issues. And I want to have hope that my hair will come back and that I'll feel like myself again, and learning more about what's causing it to fall out is the first step, so thank you again for providing free education that some doctors don't even bother to give to their own patients.

Wow makes so much sense now! My ferritin is 4! And I’m so thin, got my hemoglobin up to 11 from 6. Gotta work on it some more!

Very informative.. My ferritin is currently 52 and I want to get it up to at least 70. Doc keeps telling I am fine but I know my body and I will keep taking my iron pills and check my ferritin in 3 months.

Thank you for this informative video. My ferritin is 12 and seeing the other comments here I am guessing it is pretty low. Besides the hair loss I am exhausted all the time, constant stomach pain, my BP is low and my heartbeat is skipping all over. I am seeing my doctor next week so hopefully I can get all this addressed. Wishing everyone good luck and good health.

I am an 18 year old male and my ferritin is at 32. I’ve been experiencing a devastating hair loss problem since I was 15 but never knew my ferritin was this low until last month. I am now taking ferritin pills and hope my hair will grow back in the next couple of months. Thank you.

I'm not female but I was having a little bit of a crisis over starting to go bald at 21. I thought my genes were just awful. But turns out my ferritin is at 12... i feel like the doctors are just not taking me seriously though, just told be to buy suppliments if i'm worried and wouldn't even listen when i tried to ask about hair loss.

My hair has been falling out for 20 years. The texture is now like wire. My hemoglobin and hematocrit is low. While watching this video I went into my portal and my Ferritin is 34, yet it says NORMAL. I've been trying to figure this out for two decades. I knew that this was related. Thank you Doc!

Hair growth first symptom to alleviate. Peripheral neuropathy second. Warm hands and feet next. Increased stamina. All of this from ferritin of 3 to only 8 (with anemia). I know I have a long way to go. The tinnitus is bad.

I appreciate your videos. My ferritin is at 5! and I'm anemic. So my hemoglobin is low too. I'm trying to find a raise your ferritin level quickly video on your channel. So far I only see one for iron.

This is fascinating. Im 26 and went to my doctor because i thought i was dealing with perimenopause. Turns out, my ferritin and cbc are are the floor! Ive probably been anemic for years and never knew. I do lots of VIGOROUS, crossfit/powerlifting styled exercises so i assumed all the fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, etc was from exercise fatigue 😂

I really appreciate this! This is the case for me ferritin is at 15 and my Dr just recommended iron supplements and I’ve experienced this hair shedding for a while now! I’m definitely on board with addressing this and will be having follow up labs in the coming months! Great content!

Wow! My ferritin levels are at 6 and I’ve had hair loss for a while. My doctor didn’t seem concerned at all even though there was a warning at the lab results of low ferritin. My iron levels are at minimum and so is my b12. My body has def let me know that I am not well, hence self-education and videos like yours. Thank you so much for sharing! I’m thinking of ordering beef liver capsules and my assumption is that this will increase ferritin levels as well? Also, I’m checking my gut health. Any thoughts? Also, do you do private consultations online? I’ve been a bit frustrated with this journey and finding someone to work with on my health 🙏🏼
