I do this so I can use my Joycons as a "switch pro controller" in steam and do all the mappings in one place. There's issues though. Rumble doesn't work, gyro will occasionally stutter, and inputs will sometimes hang.

To be fair, the majority of stuff is easily doable with just one thing: Steam, reWASD, or something else (Xbox, Flydigi, 8BitDo, etc. have their own soft, for example). Not everything is ARMA :) But to have an option to use two (or more) together for those pesky problems, or unique thing you want to do, is great. Options are good, in general.

Look forward to your videos specifically, because I’m also coming from Steam Input/Controller and trying new stuff. RElearning can be harder than plain learning sometimes, you know. My favorite bug lately is that reWASD inverts gyro for some gamepads %)

i'll tell you how you share it with the community... you save it as a local-only configuration lol steam doesn't see ANY controller as a steam controller except for a steam controller. it's still just about the best game in town for just about every gamepad. you can run vJoy as admin and use hidguardian to hide the physical controller and avoid the double inputs if you need to stack rewasd or joy2key and steam input, or say for instance you've got a beast of an aggregate controller for a simpit using joystick gremlin. or if you just have a single analog thumbstick wired to an arduino bolted to your keyboard. those last couple are the situations that'll really make you wonder why steam decided to quit being the best game in town.

Ya it was worth a shot I guess. I haven't used my controller in a while. I dropped it and lost a piece. I have another one but I need to disassemble it and fix one of the triggers.

I did this before when playing Witcher 3 (with mods that add extra inputs) to add radial menus when using the DS4. Ended up having quite a bit more issues with SI, such as stutters, inputs often not registering, or getting stuck, increased lag, sometimes up to a second, or more, with registering inputs...In short, it's OK in a pinch, but definitely not something I'd even consider unless I absolutely had to.

I do this just for Doom Eternal with the apex 2 because it wouldn't lock the button prompts to controller without steam input

I habe rhe same controlelr and initially got rewasd so i can map the additional buttons. I now would like to use steam settings to adjust deadzone and some other things while also using rewasd for the mappings. Do you know how i can set it up so rewasd controls the mappings and steam settings also apply to the controller ? Ive always just turned steam controller settings off and used rewasd only.

I wonder if the chord trick works, where you set the buttons Steam can't see to chorded presses and then set those in Steam Input.
If I get a FlyDigi Apex 2, which is on my radar thanks to you, I'm reasonably likely to use both. I've used Autohotkey to do similar things before.

reWASD doesn't have radial menu option?

Does reWASD allow you to map the Gyro on the Apex 2 so that games see is as the gyro of a DS4 or Switch controller? Or can you only map it as something else (such as stick or mouse). If you can't then that means the controller doesn't work in games with native Gyro support right?

as of a few days ago rewasdhad a new update. now you can make radial menu's for games, and the flydigi vader 3 is finally supported. will you make a video about the new rewasd radial menu update?

another good question :what could be the point of using both if you play with a steam / xbox / ps controller
