Controller and Mouse Combo PC How To Guide Setup using REWASD

So if the game you are playing is on STEAM you need to right click on the game in the library, then properties - controller, then choose "disable steam input" in the drop down menu. If you don't do this REWASD won't work properly. Steam still will read it as a controller in game

It's actually pretty useful if you want to sneak and move slowly but you still want the accuracy of the mouse.

Wow I do this exact same thing for Warzone. I thought I was the only one. Same program just different controller (switch pro controller). I hated aiming with thumbstick and I hated using keyboard so best of both worlds. I instantly became 10x better at the game once I dialed it in. Keep it up!

I did this for years, and never realised that it wasn't what other ppl did. I hate controlling the camera with the controller so just used the mouse, but was always too lazy to learn what keys to use on the keyboard. In the end I just started using the keyboard, which is a lot better than the controller. That being said, in games like GTA when you are driving, the controller is a lot easier.

Great video. My only other tip that wasnt mentioned in the video is to 'unmap' each button on the controller before starting any new bindings. What this essentially does is eliminate the controller aspect and allow it to be recognised as a 'keyboard' only. The reason for doing this is because in some games it needs to switch between controller and keyboard. Thus intruducing a lag / micro stutter. So in the long run youll have much smoother performance. If you pause at 5:20 youll see the 'unmap' option.

Had to revise my comment here, so I finally got a hold of ReWASD, and although it does job on remapping WASD to the left stick, it does not respect the true analog movement. In other words when I move the left stick very subtle the character runs as opposed to how it would be on a native gamepad, so yes folks all true analog movement is lost so be aware if you are really looking for to keep this configuration. Essentially you are just putting the straight up digital keyboard WASD and emulating on the gamepad left stick. I guess we'll have to wait until a true hardware based device is able to do this.

I been doing this for a long time because i don't like being hunched over a keyboard. Works in some games, especially if a game has the option to choose between keyboard and mouse or controller . But some issues i have is some games have pre set controller configurations and keyboard configurations but you cannot disable the controller configurations, so the in game configurations override the reWASD mappings. Also in some games with the left analog stick mapped to WASD through reWASD , the mouse will not turn the camera while you are pressing forward on the stick, only if you stop pressing the stick, then you can free look with the mouse. But if you are pressing W on the keyboard the mouse will turn the camera then.

I play Fortnite like this! I wish they made a left hand only Xbox controller or a mount to attach to the right side and hold it on the desk. Taking some of the weight off the Xbox elite controller would be nice to reduce hand fatigue

Thank you so much for this app. I'm disabled and I use the elite 2 controller with the adaptive controller. I can't press two buttons as the same time. Finally, I can customize a button for 2 functions for one button! Thanks man!
