1:51 Just to point out to those non-British viewers, Nonce means something _completely_ different over here.

All British people would laugh when Linus said "Called a nonce" at 1:55

Losing the key is probably my biggest worry about one of those things.

"and that server will send you that same nonce" had me dying. no matter how serious it is xD

1:36 This is actually the best explanation I saw so far for geeks that want to know a tiny fraction more, and don’t want to be tricked into a 20 minute rant on just the basics.

I don't want a server to send me a nonce...

Every time linus said "nonce" I couldn't help but laugh and raise an eyebrow at it.

"Your key will also send the random number that it picked called a NONCE" 😂😂

I remember that I developed something like that back on 2010, but it was for an internet caffee, it was for the administrators to unlock the computers for the clients, then a counter would lock the computers again after a time entered by the administrators, back then I used a single key instead of a pre shared key since it was to be used localy and the risk was low, but Im thinking now on a version that may change the key after each use.

1. Question: What happens if I misplace it? Can I recover access to my accounts somehow?
2. Question: Can I use 1 key for multiple sites?
3. Question: Which is the best key to get right now?

I was researching about this endlessly yesterday. This is some good timing!

Linus unlocked his phone at 00:40 (you can hear the unlock sound)

My main thing with these - what happens if you lose the key, or worse, it breaks? Is there any way to get back into any account that hooks into it, and if there is, isn't that a security issue in of itself?

They should make these keys with a fingerprint sensor to enhance the security measure and make sure it is you trying to log into your accounts with the key, and so if anybody steals it they can't get into your accounts. It would be a lot better for 2FA on bank accounts

3:50 I love how that key is posed on top of some 12ga shells. You wouldn't think it'd be a good backdrop, but I like it.
