I do wish when they were talking about potential art styles for a remake they definitely could have brought up Curiomatics Mother 3 Tribute. The way it's animated and composited is definitely my favorite blueprint for a MOTHER remake

If anything they would probably remake Earthbound (Mother2) to gauge interest for the rest of the series to receive the same treatment.

Then afterwards (if the remake pops off and sells more than at least 2 million copies) they would bring mother 3 to the US or remake 1 and 3.

Who knows, hopefully it will happen… one day.

If nintendo was gonna make a remake then we would know. Theres a game coming out called MOTHER² and its the closest thing to a earthbound remake sinse nintendo will never do it.

I’d be personally shocked if they did the whole EarthBound trilogy (EarthBound Beginnings [Mother 1], EarthBound [Mother 2], and EarthBound 2 [Mother 3]) remade from the ground up, taking notes from Link’s Awakening, Super Mario RPG, or even Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door as examples. Sadly, I don’t see this happening in the slightest, but it’s just a slight fever dream for me.

I’d love a remake. This would be the best idea to reinvigorate the IP and probably the only hope to ever get Mother 3 to the USA via a follow-up remake.

This is something I’ve been wanting for years. Though I know it will never happen, I have always wanted to see my favorite series receive a remake one day.

I've long thought that the only way we'll ever see Mother 3 in the West as part of a Mother Trilogy remake.

That said, the game that NEEDS a modern remake isn't Mother 2 or Mother 3.. it's the original. You could have a great time updating it into a game that feels like the others and doesn't have the NES RPG jank. If you've played a modern version of Dragon Quest 1-4 or Final Fantasy 1-3 and compare them to the NES/Famicom originals they've bent over backwards to tone down the overwhelming difficulty and constant encounters the original versions had and to inject personality into them. Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings DESPERATELY needs this.
