Fluke is known for its very high prices.

The best multimeter you guys sell is imho the Brymen BM869s (or BM867S if you're on a budget).
They outperform pretty much everything 3 times their price.

Input protection is a point where many cheaper meters fail. If nothing happens on the line, ok, but if the line tries to bite you, you will have much more luck with a Fluke.

Question what is the best fluke multimeter for an Electrician? If I buy the Fluke 87-V max would that be a bad choice or overkill?

Fluke are overpriced and over rated. There are cheaper models on the market that are just as good if not better, my favourite and go to multi meter is UNI-T . Most electricians in America are Canada use ROBIN-amprobe . Or Kline
