Took me a six months to go from 13ng/L to 31ng/l taking 5000u/day. Felt a lot better as it was increasing, and helped my migraines immensely!

I broke my foot in October. My orthopedic surgeon tested me for vitamin d deficiency. I was extremely deficient. My dr. Said it was part of why I broke my foot I’m so glad you are talking about how important this vitamin is.

I told my doctor I was taking Vit D3 to try and help my depression, improve my immune system, and to keep my autoimmune disease (mitochondrial degeneration) under control. He freaked out and sent me for a Vit D test because he was positive I was overdosing. WELL, he sent me a letter to increase my Vit D intake. Hmmm.

I was on 50, 000 IU D3 per week. It took about a year to boost my level from 22 to 50. The number has slowly begun to fall back down. Low level of D is seen in Fibromyalgia patients and in those with autoimmune illnesses. I'm going for my next blood test in a couple of months to see if I have to restart the 50, 000 IU. Based on how I've been feeling and my propensity to have lingering viruses (though thankfully not COVID), I'm guessing the number is low again.

Vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, exercise, sunshine, and breathing freely are key. Keep your immune system up and find a doctor who will give you one of a few effective treatments should you get the virus. Get out and live life! Wishing everyone good health!

I have been taking it since before the pandemic began- bumped up my dose to 5000 IU per day per Dr. Campbell's informative videos. Lots of studies about Vit D and what it does for the body

You need to take d3 with K2 and also magnesium helps you use/create Vit D. So take magnesium glycinate with it.

I live in New Mexico and noticed one Summer I had Debilitating depression, I have been outside all the time due to my kids baseball season that we practiced all the time before the season started. I thought it was getting plenty of vitamin D and went to the doctor had all these tests done, the psychologist diagnosed me as bipolar schizo affective!!!But then I went and got a second opinion from my primary and lo and behold I had a vitamin D -deficiency pretty significant-And, I have lupus so I’m not really supposed to be in the sun as much as I am. Once I started taking vitamin D I have never stopped taking extra because I know I’m not bipolar schizoaffective LOL. That is now removed from my medical history as a miss- diagnosis.... could could you imagine if I wasn’t someone who questions their health often my life could’ve taken a whole different turn!!!!

Should we be taking bets on how long YouTube will allow this video to stay up with that Rona claim? 😂

Every cell in the body has receptors for vitamin D. It really is more of a hormone than a vitamin with a multitude of downstream effects. Some preliminary evidence with COVID is intriguing. I'm looking forward to larger RCT trials.

I found out that your head sweating is a symptom of Vitamin D deficiency.
And I've hated to go outside around the time that the big hole in the ozone layer showed up right over North America.
My doctor prescribed a supplement, and now I take fish oil as well.
And I live in nice warm Minnesota, no skin showing in the winter, 74 years old.

It would be more accurate to say that vitamin D supports the immune system to function properly. People like me with autoimmune diseases are sometimes discouraged from supplementing with things that are touted to "boost" the immune system. If one has a faulty immune system then "boosting" seems counterintuitive and potentially harmful. In reality, vitamin D deficiency likely plays a role in the development of autoimmune diseases. Vitamin D and vitamin C do not boost, they support. And example of a booster would be elderberry.

vitamin d, zinc, glucosamine (so you don't blow out your joints), exercise, quit smoking 🤙🏽. Doc you've gotten me through a sprained ankle, a car wreck, and overall mayhem.

Here in Colorado the days are becoming more cloudy (due to jet-trails and air pollution) where we USED to have 300+ days of sunshine, but no more. We might have an hour or two of sunshine, but not 4+ hrs per day as before. Because the weather is cloudier and COLDER I have to keep on layers of clothing. 8-{ Animals are deficient here too.

Good advice here, I've been on vit D for over a year and have never felt better. Try to get it from the sun as it lasts twice as long but living in Scotland makes it almost impossible for at least 6 months of the year.

If you are going to try over 4 or 5 thousand IU (or higher) I would advise you to *make sure* you are also taking vit k2... hell, k2 is a great vitamin that most of us are lacking - just like vit d. However, the vit k2 makes sure the vit d is taking calcium away from where it isn't meant to be organs and heart and putting where it needs to go bones and teeth!

Get a blood test from your doctor and you may need prescription strength. I take prescription D2 one time a week and
5000iu's D3 one time a day which is over the counter. Take with food for better absorption. Gel caps are better absorbed.

Have you done a program about iron deficiency?

My doctor told me that I needed to take 50, 000 micrograms daily for several years because once you are deficient in Vitamin D, it is very difficult to rebuild your storage and retention
