In this video, I discuss some problems on the topic of Einstein's postulates of Special theory of Relativity. Special Relativity is one of the most important theories of modern times. Albert Einstein's brainchild that it is, it is full of surprising consequences arising from two simple postulates. A series of videos on Special Relativity consisting of video lectures on various topics is available on this channel. In addition to that, a series of videos on solving problems on various topics of Special Relativity is posted on this channel to aid better understanding of the topics. As a part of the series, this video contains some problems on the two fundamental postulates of Special Relativity. The problems are of varying degree of difficulty but each of them is discussed in as much detail as possible while I work out all the necessary steps involved in solving the problems. I begin the video by discussing a very famous problem which Einstein is said to have thought of in his youth and that was Einstein's mirror problem. The solution to this problem is pretty simple while the problem itself is outrageously interesting. Then I continue to discuss several other problems on the postulates including the one that is a thought experiment proposed by Paul Ehrenfest, who Einstein himself considered as one of the best teachers of his time. Ehrenfest's thought experiments concerns about an expanding spherical light wave filling a dark sphere which could either be moving with respect to a hypothetical ether medium or could be moving in free space, where Einstein's postulate is used to resolve the problem. I believe the problems will intrigue and engage the viewers as much as it did to me.
