The bill is criminally unknown, and fits in that classic ‘this was a work tool, but now is a war tool’ niche.

The partisan is one of the best looking polearms

Because in the field, you should always have a can-opener

I wish polearms were easier to spar with. They've been tons of fun every time I've gotten to use one, but there's always going to be one form of compromise or another for safety compared to how well modern hema gear defends against full-weight sword strikes
Chibi_changa
The partisan spear will always be one of my favorite polearm. it makes you feel like youre a hero in a fantasy story.😂

I bloody love polearms! They don’t get nearly enough attention as they deserve

The Billhook was very popular in England. Medieval Englishboos are familiar about the weapon, but overlooks how it was popular in Italy as the Roncone. AFAIK, English Billhook blades tend to be wider than the more slender Roncone blades
The English notably still stick to Longbow-and-Bill when the continental Europeans started to shift to Pike-and-Shot
If we want to talk about less known user of the Billhook, Matrakci Nasuh painted some Ottoman Yeniceri wielding Billhooks in his illustrations in the Suleymanname depicting the 1522 Siege of Rhodes

Partisans are ART.
So fancy and modest at the same time

These are criminally underrated polearms, i love all of them. Especially the good old partisan.
Avod_Grim
Billhooks look goofy but once you get to know it more they are pretty intimidating weapons of war.

Never thought I'd be pitched medieval weaponry by Clark Kent, yet here I am.

The partisan has always been one of my favorites within the spear category!

Farming tool transformed into weapons is my favorite subgenre... Okay, maybe I have too many favorite subgenres

That second one’s blade is so beautiful

I love how the average polearm is like, "let's stick this farming tool on the end of a pole." But then the Italian billhook is just all, "let's weld _every_ farm tool together, hammer it out flat, and *then* stick it on the end of a pole."

I love when Clark Kent talks about his vast connection of weapons he's collected from all the villains he defeated 😂

You can have some of these polearms in the medieval setting game Kingdom come Deliverance. Though I would be very glad and thankful if you could do an analysis of the fighting styles and moves in that game.
