Just seeing BF242 makes me remember they owe me £70

Love how EA keep getting away with calling it, "map rework" rather than "finalised version following testing that should've been completed internally prior to release" - gotta keep shareholders happy! Battlebit Remastered > current BF iterations

My friend bought me 2042 during the Steam Sale. I appreciated the gesture, but the whole 4 hours we were playing, I just wish we were playing BattleBit instead. He initially rejected it because it looked like "Roblox CoD." He must have seen how many more hours I was putting into BattleBit after that one Battlefield session, and he ended up buying it for himself. We haven't booted up 2042 since.

Jumping into 2042 made me realize just how fucked their hit registrations are compared to BF4 and BF1 had theirs. Never felt like I lost a fight to someone that didn’t tweak their movement like a Quake game.

Should also add that when server population dies down, Battlebit consolidates and merges game instances so you're always in a max game instance. It's pretty brilliant and makes it really easy to always put into a full game no matter what.

4:22 as someone who doesn't play games very often and has a tight schedule. A game that takes less than a minute to open and start playing is exactly what I want.

I'm team Battlebit all the way. It's gameplay first mentality and never sacrificing for the sake of streamlining makes it the clear winner in my mind.

It's also a really interesting case study, for several reasons. The biggest two are how it's a smash indie game in spite of doing very little new, unlike most smash indie hits which usually do something revolutionary in terms of gameplay, and how it showcases the downfall of AAA gaming as it grows more detached from it's fans in a misguided pursuit of "E3 trailer moments" and chasing wider appeal. The fact that Battlebit even competes with Battlefield at all in spite of looking so terrible shows how out of touch Dice (or whoever is pulling their strings) has gotten.

The point system for vehicles purchasing just need to be in the base game modes by default. It just makes the game evolve so nicely over the course of a match. Also, it makes blowing up vehicles great cause you know that guy just wasted points.

BBR shows you don't need to reinvent the wheel for the game to succeed, but nobody ever told dice that apparently.

Battlefield is dead, ill never buy another game again. Same for COD, those two franchises sold out long ago.

2042 feels more like a COD game than a Battlefield game.

Imagine if they just remade BF4 ... until we get another actual BF game BBR will be my go to.

I like seeing videos like this, especially in the current state of Multiplayer gaming where AAA games are releasing poorly or are, overtime, becoming poor experiences. Meanwhile Indie games are shining.

I had to unsubscribe from Levelcap and Jackfrags a while ago because both would release a video with title, "2042 is great again" I would watch get excited, reinstall 2042 and hated the experience. And would rinse and repeat whenever there was an update to the game.

But this video, I love seeing how Battlefield is facing off with it's new competitor Battlebit and where each is doing strongly or poorly.

I didn't really notice until seeing 2042 again, but Battlebit's destruction is really good.

It makes the fight evolve in interesting ways while the teams compete to destroy eachothers cover and scramble to build new sandbag defenses in the charred rubble that used to be some houses.

Its not just a long trudge to getting shot off a zipline on my way to the same giant beached boat over and over again.

Now that I think about it, the map design overall is significantly better in Battlebit, even on the maps everyone bitches about.

It feels like the map design puts more emphasis on the finer tactical details of the environment in terms of sightlines, cover and concealment.

Its like someone who enjoys playing games for fun consciously thought about designing a space that 254 players are going to be thoroughly engaging with all at once.

Its not just a few big hollywood setpieces thought up to pitch to a boardroom full of suits who only care about what its gonna look like in the trailer.

Battlefield 2042 feels like a mobile game that you can play with mnk. Imo, BF3 is the best battlefield game ever made. The gameplay is unmatched and only BF4 ever got close.

People like simplicity. Cod went a similar route when they made you go through 7 or 8 different menu clicks to get to weapon attachments. Battlebit is simple and the gameplay is satisfying. A perfect combo

My friends and I are still playing BF4 and are back to OG MW2 and BO2 now that servers are back.
