Where I live, it's quite uncommon for people in my socioeconomic class to have a freezer but I splurged way out so that I could have a fridge that also had a freezer exactly for this. It most recently came in handy when I had surgery but no help around the house. I was able to get up, throw my frozen goodies into a pan, and lay back down while it simmered. I had to make sacrifices in other areas of my household to afford my freezer - I have no upholstered chair or television - but it has really helped me maintain a quality of life.

The only thing I'd do different is keep the sauce in the jar. No point opening it when it can sit in a cupboard.
