One of the most incredible junkyards in the history of junk is Turner's Auto Wrecking in Fresno, California—and on this episode of Roadkill, Freiburger and Finnegan hit those 100 acres of vintage sheetmetal and go spelunking for gold! After considerable debate, the guys select a 1950 GMC shortbed truck that had been off the road for 26 years and jam to get it running and driving for the trip home to Los Angeles. At least there was a 50-percent victory. Watch as the guys revamp the Jimmy inline six, panic over a wrecked master cylinder, sweat their cajones off for four days, and explore one of the greatest old-car stashes ever!

I first saw this episode while I was deployed. Over the years I have watched it a million times. David has me obsessed with the idea of building a stock 49 or 50 and charging up the old inline 6. Life keeps happening so no truck yet but one day I will own pigpen

Watching in June of 2022.
I have a 53 GMC with the inline 6 302. Original owner was my Granddad. It still runs.. The " Jimmy" is a 5 window. I love that truck. My Granddad used it specifically for elk hunting here in Arizona for a decade and a half, then gifted it to us. My older brother drove it for a while, when he was in high school here in the mid seventies, then I drove it in the late 70's. It has a special order from the factory 2 ton drive train, 4 speed with an incredibly low or first "granny gear". The ol' girl won't go over 60 mph because of the gear ratio. Its was painted in 1978 a specific Chevrolet/ GMC color " corvette orange flame". The grill, bumper and all badging was professionally chromed in 78'.
Great video !
I'm extremely sentimental about this truck as the family history that surrounds it

I'm not a mechanic, but I'm proud of you guys.

May God bless men when we use knowledge for good.

Dave and Mike you guys are just totally unbelievable true ambassadors to resurrecting the vehicle dead. Reminds me of my younger days poking around the junk yards

My grandpa has a 51 GMC which has been parked since '86. He's told me as long as I can remember the truck is mine I just need to get it home. This episode feels like it was made for me to get me off my can and get to work. It might take a dust pan and a broom to get it moved, but come hell or high water its gonna get done. Thanks for kicking me in the pants. Ride on fellas.

I love how they filmed the massive kink in the exhaust loads of times and never noticed it! They filmed the massive problem the poor thing had!

I found Roadkill while watching Fred Williams/ Dirt Everyday. They are now my absolute favorite shows! So sad they are gone but definitely not forgotten.

This is my third time watching this episode, and it's still my favorite! You roadkill guys have inspired me more than ever to become a mechanic, and make old cars run again! Thank you so much for your show! I love it!

David: "It's not even smoking."
Truck gremlin: " That's because the exhaust pipe is kinked off".

I thought I clicked on another drama reality tv show car restoration but this is the first time I've encountered one without the drama, just what I wanted!
