These courses are great. I've completed Google data analytics, ibm data science, imb data analyst and currently finishing up Google project management. They usually take a month and a half for me. They work great, as a college student learning skills and such. In addition for them I've gotten 25hrs of college credit helping me to be on pace to finish a year early. I came to this place to see public opinions about this course. I completed the course, and 4 months after I was contacted to teach this course. After 1 year I still enjoy teaching it in Community Colleges.

I finished the Google Data Analytics cert on February 28, 2022. I didn't know any data analytics before that, and I was in a health-focused master's program but I wanted tech skills to supplement what I was learning in school. The class gave me a good intro to data analytics.
I then took a data analytics course through my master's program where I did a bunch of Excel projects focused on healthcare data and added them to my portfolio. Then, I had to do a Power BI dashboard for another class in the master's program and added that to my portfolio. Finally, I took extra SQL classes but then realized that a certain kind of SQL platform is used most in healthcare, so then I specialized in that software.
In January 2023, I had 5 data analyst interviews and just landed a job at a health insurance company, and the job pays $84, 000 a year. I still haven't completed my master's degree, but I think the combination of the data skills and being in the master's program helped me get the job. This is what I realized helped me most on this journey:
1. Take extra classes to supplement the Google class - ex. Excel courses, SQL courses
2. Specialize in a certain SQL platform if you want a job using SQL
3. Have portfolio projects that showcase your Excel skills, data viz skills, and SQL skills
4. Focus on getting very good at SQL because it's the most important data analysis skill. The Excel skills and data viz skills are still a good foundation for data analytics so don't completely neglect them but definitely focus on getting very good with SQL.

I was having my doubts with this certificate but now am convinced. I'll be 30 this week with no degree at all (only high school) and I've been a cook for years. I decided that I don't want to be standing 8hrs, 6 days a week. So, I decided to learn a new skill. Am not sure which certificate I'll take but am sure am taking one. Wish me the best. I will disagree as I didn't learn data analysis in college as much as I did with The Google Data Analytics certificate. I was jack of all trades and master of none in college. These certificate courses enable you to focus on a particular area and specialize it. The course of data analytics is superbly crafted, where you really are in a position to get an entry level job and grow from there. In short, the certificate will give you the wings and the platform and then it is up to you to excel from there. Keep making projects and adding to your portfolio. Good luck!

As long as they keep the courses updated on Coursera, I could see them being beneficial, but I am highly skeptical about the Google IT cert. Last time I checked, it didn’t have a date later than 2020. I’m sure the learning is amazing, but a lot of employers don’t even look at this cert unless they’re ones linked with coursera.
I also laughed at the review that said they didn’t even care about the core2 A+ certification. A lot of companies make their employees renew their most current certification, and if you don’t renew it you can technically be let go from your job. At the same time, many employers, use job application filters. If you don’t have a certain CompTIA certification, they won’t even look at your résumé. I would recommend only take the information from this video as a grain of salt. There are other YouTube videos, claiming their coursera certification alone was not the reason they got hired alone. More like an add-on of another solid credential.
Now I’m not commenting to discourage people, but there is no easy way of going about it.
-Certs open the door.
-Skills/Personality get you hired.
-Performance of said skills will determine if you do or don’t get fired.

Just finished the Digital Marketing & ecommerce and it was comprehensive compared to my recent degree in same subject. Even better, I was able to take most of it through my local library system. Highly recommend if a person is changing careers.

The power of certification that these documents bring alone is worth it. I have been applying jobs without the certification of an IT support specialist for years and have been getting little to no responses. I am currently in Kenya but I have been getting job offers after the certificate from as far as Canada and the UK. so I would recomend people to take the courses offered.

I am a senior computer information systems student, during three months, before, during and after the first semester, I did all the Google Career certificates, these programs has not only helped to develop skills related to tech and communication, but gave me massive awareness on how big and beautiful the job market and what potential the individuals can be when choosing the right set of skills in the particular fields. It also helped me during the COOP Training, and enhanced my learning in the courses offered by my college.
I highly recommended anyone to not only take these courses, but also learn other courses to be aware and knowledgeable on the other fields to be better.
Side note: I am looking forward for Google to create Software Engineer/Web development and Cybersecurity and other certificate programs, I am so engaged on the delivery and style of teaching on their courses.
Another Side note: If I recall correctly, Coursera discount will end by 31 January, will update this comment if anything changes.

To go back to the beginning of the video, I think a lot of universities in America are still teaching the ethics and theories of these majors and studies. And not creating practical experiences and workshops that can be used in future situations or resumes.

I got my degree and debating to get a Master's because my first degree was not properly set up to give their students success after graduating.
