i was HC-130 crew escorting A-10s to South Korea, we called it a Duck-Butt mission, we had a ten hour leg with them. We looked out and saw one A-10 inverted, asked if he was ok and he said his legs had gone numb and was trying to get his butt off the seat. Several had to be helped out of the cockpit when we landed.

Our F-16s from Hill AFB flew 16 hours non-stop to Desert Shield in 1990, and I think they refueled 10 times on the way. I remember the pilots essentially crawling out of the cockpits when we finally had them in chocks and shut down.

I was a munitions systems specialist on a 16 base and won myself 15 *minutes* in the cockpit, @6'4" i was just as happy to get out! (The ride was awesome, ingress and egress is another story).😊

My dad did a test flight for altitude and distance in a fully loaded B-29for 10 1/2 hours shortly before they drop the first atomic bomb. He told my brother about the flight. Flying from New Mexico to Cuba to Minneapolis back to Mexico. After he passed away, we found his flight log and he did fly at 10 1/2 hour flight just before they drop the first atomic bomb.
