Thank you so much! At 80 yrs I tend to panic (just slightly) and wonder if there's something 'wrong' with my laptop. Have also tried over and over...

Hej Gill thanks for the info regarding this Windows 10 update I haven't had my Windows 10 computer turned on for a while but agree with you this, seems to be clearly a Microsoft server error but this kind of thing is causing trouble for people out there and causing concern for some people. But yes you can hide the update I usually do it with Windows update which is problematic sometimes or, other updates it's good to do that because, even if you uninstall a Windows update that is problematic, it comes back down sometimes but not if you hide it take care Gill and have a nice day.

Thanks, what you described is exactly what I experienced also. This little tool Wushowhide solved my issue by hiding this update and fixing error of repeated installation, now then mark is green and all up to date, lol. Also update troubleshooter did not fix it, only the Wushowhide did it.

This NEW update installed first time. Then did Windows Update again, and it tried to install again, while it's already in update history., and got an error at top of the window, then the error message disappeared by itself. With only the KB503441 error showing at top of window and in update history.

The update installs the 2024-3 update first sucessfully then tries to install the 2023-10 version and fails i.e.its not trying to install the same thing twice (look at the dates at the start of wording at 0.57 of the video) Also if you video the retry attempt you can the see the attempt flash by and on play back, running frame by frame, you can see that the issue is during the download phase so its not an install issue as it never gets to that part of the process.

Not exactly the same issue I ran into late last night. March 5: 11:44pm Pacific check for updates, and one dated 2023-10 KB5001716 showing up and it FAILS! I've NEVER (yes, I'm sure) seen it before, it did NOT install back in 2023-10. The 2024-03 version installed after 6pm successfully (Update history see in as well as in programs installed so I could try to UNinstall it but didn't know if should or not), and it wasn't there in the morning.

Wasted hours with MS support to get told to repair windows need to do. Unh-uh. Not unless prove to me it's my system with the issue and not MS screw up again. MS support did tell me are still wroking on fix for the KB5034441 issue.

Happy to know it's not just me with this issue (couldn't find anyone else after 1am yesterday reporting an issue and finding multiple threads of people stuck with the repeated fail with the 2023-10 version.

thats very weird man why that is doing... its like they kind of makng people that are on windows 10 annoyed enough so they be like fine i will upgrade to wndows 11 as they do indeed want everyone on their lastest verson.... not sure if that is really the case knowing microsoft is probably a mistake lol.... i'm very much glad I been off windows now for over year... I always used linux as well and now i only just use Linux as I honestly never have any use for windows other than gaming and one the main reason i kept windows for the longest time as for destiny 2 and Lost ark as the anti cheat doesnt work on linux, but since lost ark is a highly pay to win game i don't even play it anymore or planing to in the future also with destiny 2 that game is dying so i just stop playing that too, if they are not going to support proton fine i wont support pllaying ur game cya... as laways dude great video. I dont use windows anymore, but I always find these videos fun to watch as i miss windows sometimes i dont know why maybe im use to it all my life iuse wndows since the late 80s so yeah... but its nice to see someone talking about it so i watch these videos to see windows and whats new with their system and i dont have to use it to see it ..

Microsoft is really dropping the ball on updates lately.

So, just like with the other one a couple weeks ago or so, I went through & used the WU Show/Hide Tool to hide this copy of kb5001716. Not sure who at Microsoft is sending this stuff out without making sure people already have it beforehand.

I had the same problem yesterday and used Wushowhide to hide the update, but it still shows as installed.👍

Constantly get 'Web Browsing Restore Recommended' on my Windows 10 Home 22H2 'All Settings' page (Globe has blue dot appear) yet have tried to unclick/reclick one/both boxes and nothing changes - any ideas anyone?
