I am glad to see this video. I too purchased an iMac Pro (with some upgraded parts) and I financed it through Apple business lease (CIT). Couldn't be happier with this machine. Quiet, high-quality video monitor, fast SSD and CPU. I don't even have the slightest interest in getting a Mac Pro (I had the older Thunderbolt 2 Mac Pro and traded that in for the iMac Pro). I use it for high-end graphics, publishing, programming, and video editing (Camtasia, NOT Final Cut Pro!). Just the best machine ever and it appears that you agree, too.

I love the display of my iMac. I edit full length movies using it.
By the way, I like your latest videos as you’re addressing more tech issues than before, hence helping build your credibility as an influential tech YouTuber.

My Mid-2010 MacBook Pro aged pretty well. I didn't get Mojave, but up to High Sierra, I was getting all the latest updates. I upgraded the hard drive to an SSD, upgraded the RAM because that was cheaper than buying from Apple, and I've replaced the battery three times, and also replaced the rubber feet on the bottom because one of them broke off after about 6 years. For a 9 year-old computer, it is still pretty fast for basic tasks, though obviously you are not going to do video editing on it. Parallels with a very stripped down Windows 10 Enterprise is OK, though Windows 8.1 is better looking purely at speed.

Hi Andrew - I'm considering which iMac Pro to use. You mentioned you configured your computer with a 2TB internal HD because your videos take up a lot of room. Do you edit right to your internal system drive or an external raid? Do you use the internal drive as storage for your finished projects? I thought it was recommended to not edit to the system drive. Besides your YouTube channel videos what other types of projects do you edit?

I got an 18 core model that I use to run virtual labs. This machine is great. With all the cores you kan just keep throwing stuff at it and it just doesn't slow down. My new MacBook Pro might run one of the VM's faster but this beast runs 18 of them without slowing down. Also with 10.14.5 the T2 panics seem to have gone away as well.

Wonderfull machine! I feel the same way about my 2017 5K iMac! I have it since it launched (max processor and GPU, 16GB RAM 512GB SSD) and it’s running perfect until now! I’m using it every day for all kinds of stuff and video & photo editing with final cut pro, lightroom and photoshop and it’s going great with no signs of wear too!
