LMR.com is honored to provide the world with the FIRST dyno numbers of a 2018 GT with the new 10-speed automatic transmission!

This car does have the level 1 performance package and is rated at 460HP and 420LB/TQ at the flywheel.

Stock Dyno Pull: 415HP/397TQ at SAE
- 93 Octane
- 10 Speed Automatic (7th Gear Pull at 1:1)
- 19" Rear Wheel w/ 275/40/19 Michelin Pilot Sports
- 3.55 Rear Gear
- TOTALLY Stock Car

*Note*
The car's VSS did limit us on our pull. This is why you see the car tap out at 6600 RPMs. The redline for the 2018 Mustang GT is 7500. On that note, the car does have room on the table for potentially more power!

I believe HP Tuners will have a after market tune before SCT.

Fuel cut on MY18 gen3 Coyote is 7500rpm, so why did you not rev the car all the way? Did you run in 7th gear? Still nice results!

How did the 2018 have just about the same hp and more torque? Shouldn’t the 2024 have more torque with dual intakes ?!?!

They got a 12.1 1/4 mile time earlier.

If car is hitting speed limiter in 7th, why not run it in 6th ? 1.28 gear ratio compared to 1 to 1 just to be able to see if car making more power thru graph in those extra 900 rpm ? At least have # for those extra rpm's whether high or lower than the 7th gear pull

From the factory it's limited to 900rpm before actual redline ? Is it speed limited, wonder will it rev to 7500 if front wheels are turning ? Ford may have a milage limit you have to reach before full rpm is available like hellcat you have to put 500mi on it before red key can be used

nice do you guys intend to rev it to 7500rpm??? See what it has left.

Longtubes, Holley Sniper, Cams, and a tune and this thing will be 500+

LMR did a similar dyno test on the ‘15-‘17 with the Stage 2 Power Pack and it came out with higher HP and torque numbers than this ‘18. Feeling good about my ‘17 GT with Performance Pack and the Stage 2.

How much is the hp loss on the 10speed?

For those who aren't aware... That means a little over 500 at the crank given automatics tend to drop 20% by the time it gets to the wheels.

Holy shit!!!! Did ford lie about the stock crank numbers!?! 415 at the wheels puts this at around 520 crank if you use the 20% drivetrain loss that autos supposedly lose that’s insane

Today's autos are at about 16% average loss and sticks at about 14%. However, there are over 1000 different variables that go into factoring drive train loss, that it really should not be used at all in reality. Each vehicle is different. It's a mustang company testing a mustang. Just like a Camaro being tested by a GM vehicle performance company, or Dodge. There is bias.

Open hood dynos give false high numbers. There's no natural under hood airflow, or heat build up. Open hood dynos are great for parking lot meets, but worthless when the vehicle is moving, hood closed. They also used 93-94 octane with octane booster according to an inside source at LMR. Actual numbers are 8-10 less hp and tq at wheels. Plus, if one wants to count reality of apples to apples, vs the competition, the car needs to be dynos with 91 octane like every other manufacturer uses, and hood closed. Otherwise these. Umbers are def way overinflated.

I'm just saying not to trust these numbers here. Plus the car is a lot heavier than the 2015-2017. If it's 475-480 crank based on % averages, then it should run 116-117 mph in the 1/4. Problem is it's getitycolder outside and DA is getting much lower, which is like fuel on a fire, adding free hp. So any 1/4 runs this late in the year will also be unrealistic and overly high. The Cam SS will still destroy the mustang in a straight line and in handling and now for the first time, the. I Stang costs more for similar equipment.
