I was with you until you said skimming, not a fan of this or any suggestion of it as reading but that's just my opinion. All the other suggestions are really good for someone trying to read more. I would also suggest taking a book with you everywhere you go. You never know when you'll have some downtime and you can pull out a book and read. I read while waiting for the doctor/dentist and on my lunchbreak. I listen to audiobooks on my commute to work and while I'm shopping.

I think people shouldn’t aim to read much, but read smart. Really absorb what you read and process what you learned

I always set my goodreads goal to 52 books. It’s one book per week which is the minimum I want to read. I easily surpass it, but I like just having it set as a minimum instead.

Skimming and skipping pages is cheating when you read fiction. There’s no way you read 50+ books every month without a significant amount of skimming. Unless you read a lot of novellas. 🙄

I see reading challenges as a challenge to yourself. I decided this year that my goal will be the number of books I read last year, so that way when I pass the goal it's like a personal victory. 🤗

I have just started reading this year and I've read 35 books for 20 in my Goodreads challenge!!! I think being excited about the books you are gonna read is very very important. That's what made me read more books. I found myself dnf-ing books which I have no interest for even if they are hyped by the booktube community. Don't waste your time on books which you are not enjoying, thats something I learnt this year 😅

In 2021 i've read 50 books, but this goals at the end was so stressful and I forgot for a while the joy of reading. So yeah this year I put 25 books as challenge and if I read more good if not it's okay too :) But yeah I get lost in the process.

Very late 2020 I wanted to start reading again. I read so much in middle school I read like 2-3 books a week. And then when I started high school I kinda stopped. I’m now a senior and I’m so excited for all the books I want to read this year.

I made a goal for 50 books and it was going great and then I got in a HUGE reading slump from May until about 5 days ago. I picked up the first Percy Jackson book and fell in love. Now I’m done with that one and starting the next one. I’m still 13 books behind on my reading challenge but I want to try to catch up! I think I can do it!
