Just watched your video this morning. I was curious to if others were doing this.

So I finally decided to hook up my old PIONEER TT to my Nakamichi ShockWafe yesterday morning. A turntable I bought for my GrandFather in '89. He passed a few years ago. So I "inherited" it along with his vinyl (and my own).

I had to hook the PIONEER up to an ART DJ Pre 2 Phono Preamp that I rarely used (had planned to get a receiver originally). Then connect to the Audio Inputs on my LG TV, then goes via the HDMI/ARC connection to the soundbar, and finally select the AV input on the LG Home Dashboard.

The sound was nicely toned to say the least.
But selecting the "MUSIC" button on the Nakamichi remote gave the some of the music I played (Jazz primarily) a balanced multi-channel quality. I really didn't have to MAX out the Volume either.

Great Video.
There's always a "Work-Around" if one has patience.

I just hooked my 1978 technics to a extra sounbar I had. I used the Pyle preamp about $20 of Amazon. I had to after some research buy a ground loop noise resistor. $10 from Amazon. I was getting alot of background noise. This fix helped but didn't totally help it. But it was cheap to try.

Thx, you solved a huge dilemma to me! <3

Besides, Synchronicity is probably my fave record from my fave singer! :)

I was given an older phonograph (Yamaha PF-1000) by my uncle (now passed), a definite audiophile who worked at JBL (Harmon-Kardon) for 29 years. I, on the other hand, am not! Came across this vid because I do not know how to do a set up, and this makes the connection look easy as I was considering a soundbar for a newly purchased TV upgrade. However, in all my googling and reading, it appears that the turntable I received may have a Moving Coil (MC) Cartridge, and not a Moving Magnet (MM) Cartridge. Hard for me to ID without unscrewing it from the arm. I'm assuming that if it is MC, that I should not use a pre-amp designated only for MM. It appears that many "modern" pre-amps may be made for MM cartridges. Thank you for providing this info...will continue to try to ID which cartridge the Yamaha has to determine equipment/setup.

The adapter, if anyone needs to know, is a 1/8 Stereo Mini Jack Male to 2 Female RCA Adapter Audio (Male to 2 Female). DO NOT get the 3 pronged AV adapter as they are different devices. It MUST BE an RCA audio adapter. Just set mine up and it works like a dream!

Nice video!! I have a question and hope you have a solution to it. I have my Audio-Technica (AT-LP60) turntable connect to a Samsung sound bar. I also have an extra 2 speakers that come with red and black jacks. I did some research, and most of small amplifiers with subwoofer only support 1 output and 1 input. How can I connect my turntable to 3 speakers at the same time???

I was given a Pioneer turntable from the 80s. Want to hook it to my Bose and enjoy the 2000 vinyls Ive collected for 30 years. Problem 1- there is no plug for power, 2-no amp, just a turntable with a red, a white, and another 3...ac/dc adapter? . HELP!

Great video. I liked that you just cut to the chase, no screwing around, with a little bit of extra info in case people were having trouble. The jaunty background music made me laugh, just found it amusing.

Do you have a link for the pre-amp? I had no idea they could with a grounding pin built-in & that's exactly what I need for my folks' older Pioneer turntable.

Thanks!

Thanks for that video. I liked it, straight to the point. Maybe someone can help me here.I was given a Pioneer Stereo Cassette Tape Deck, Model CT-F555 recently. It has two double (red and white) connector cords in the back. They are labelled: Input (REC) and Output(Play). My soundbar only has two of the RCA female ports in the back. Like I said the tape deck has 4 total male RCA cables. Also is there any reddit groups or message boards that deal with audio/visual electronic devices? Any advice appreciated, I'm not very knowledgeable with regards to wires and cords. Thanks so much.

I got confused and I have a question. If I have an rt80 turntable, that has a built in preamp, I can just connect the red and white whires from the table to the sound bar and it should work?

Hi, sorry for the inconvenience and the delay, I wanted to ask you since I'm new in this field if I could connect the Audio Technica LP60X turntable to my LG soundbar.

Thanks for the video. Recently changing out an old stereo system in lieu of a Samsung soundbar system. Got the soundbar this week but doesn’t have an AUX input, just Digital Audio in and USB 5V. My record player is only RCA and I ordered a preamp this week. But with no AUX on the bar, am I out of luck on connecting the two or is there hope?

It may sound pretentious. But how is the sound quality? Does it still sound good or flat or just normal? I'm thinking of downsizing from my Sansui set up to a one source sound bar for all sources of audio

Can you use the digital audio in as a replacement for RCA cable connection?

I'm a little confused about the "ground wire that you just kind of screw in on the side." I can't really see it. If I purchase this little preamp I then need to drill a hole in the side of it? Please help, I really need to get some noise out of my vintage record player, Im tired of singing. Mahalo, Tracy
