You make some valid points for the 2023 Super Duty shifter in R or D and new safety feature automatically moving the column shifter lever into P. This new safety feature might prevent someone from backing over a small child or elderly person. However...two general comments.

1. It is very unfortunate so many people think (men) or feel (women) they have to live their life in the "Rat in a hurry (super hurry nowadays)...as an employee for their employer or as a business owner running their own because virtually everyone wants "Instant Gratification"...they want a product or service 'Now' or 'Right Now'. Add the kids with school and extra activities (sports) along with holidays and gets over the top...quite chaotic!

2. In a general sense, I do not like being subjected to government or corporate "Nanny State" mandates. I don't need 'protection' from the government or the corporate world. Two Examples:

a. Friend who lives in town in another state has a riding lawn mower blades shut down if he shifts from Foward to Reverse...OR...lifts his weight off of the seat. There is no way I would own a machine like that. It is VERY inconvenient to have the mower deck shit down in reverse...and not be able to cut the grass while backing up a short distance. I would have to disable those safety features.

b. I live in a remote area...and the Vehicle Safety Belt 'alarms and instrument panel red lights' are too often a big nuisance in a Jeep or a 4WD a few feet around hunting camp, on the farm or ranch, backing up to a bumper pull or gooseneck trailer, even a few miles down a dirt road (in a sparsely populated area). I always buckle up on any high speed or even while driving on light traffic roads / highways. On the other hand, there are times when I or other people do not want to wear a seat belt and do not want to listen to an alarm or see the red light on the dash.

I have some safety belt clip alarm stoppers from

I hope the "auto shifting to park when you open the door" is not included on my 2024 Superduty that I ordered. There are often times that I'm adjusting the position of my trailer or truck and swing the door open (or leave the door open when jumping in and out) to move forward or back a few feet. The truck shifting itself back into park would not allow that. If that is the case, I hope there is a way to permanently turn off that feature in the menu or at least over ride it on a case by case basis.

Ford did not have this in their 2022 & older trucks and cars:
With auto transmission in D, foot on brake, using open palm, you can't push shifter from D into N!! This is for emergency use only to disconnect engine from drivetrain.
GM, Chevy, Ram, Nissan, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Audi, Lexus all have auto transmissions that have this safety feature built in!!!

Can you confirm what is on your 2023?!!!
