I was diagnosed at 14. And i’m 22 now. Diabetes make my life better by eating healthy doing exercise 5 days a week. I’m healthier than my non-T1D friends. Keep it up you’re strong 🙏🏻

My brother who is 6 years old was diagnosed last year he is turning 7 really soon. He usually gets allot of comments on his devices but I always stand up for him. I love my little brother.

Never bully anyone with type 1 diabetes or anything because what’s on the outside doesn’t count it’s what’s on the inside the heart of someone’s and if your bullying them ur just breaking their heart.

I was also diagnosed at 16, but in my case it was 43 years ago! Like you, I was lucky enough to be diagnosed as things were changing. When I was diagnosed there were no home glucose meters, which changed EVERYTHING.
Those couple years between 81 & my getting my first home glucose meter were very tough years. I also found it very difficult as an adolescent, as I'm sure you have.
But, tight control tight control tight control – that's all I have to say about it. I am 59 years old, have an A1c of 6, no retinopathy, kidney, heart or liver disease & I'm thoroughly enjoying all the advantages modern medicine has brought to us in the last 40 years, specifically the last 20 years.

I got diagnosed when I was 6, and I only got a pump a year later, so before I did, my dad had to come to my school 3 times a day to give me an injection....now I'm 16! And still alive, managing, fit and well!!!
The hardest part is the difficulty of explaining it to my friends 😢

Literally 23 got diagnosed last week Friday rollercoaster of emotions for both mr and my parents but we here now . At least I can stop alot of things. I know people will annoy tf out of me with my eating. People aren’t aware over here in Nigeria

I am currently a 16-year-old (I've had it since I was 7) with type 1 diabetes. And it's so amazing that you feel so confident. I constantly get embarrassed when I have to tell people I have diabetes because they confuse it with type 2, and I'm not the most skinny human in the world, and all these jokes. But it's so nice to see other people like me living confidently with type 1; hopefully, I'll get there one day.
