Nice video...I just received my Voyager yesterday after waiting since April 2021 for it to be delivered. I, fortunately, will have my son and one of his friends over to help me lift the motor up (5 back surgeries so I try to work "smarter, not harder" these days).

I bought the nova keyless 5/8 chuck for mine, it’s a 1/2 thousand, good enough! Checking the outside of the chuck, doesn’t show your runout! Need to chuck a test rod and measure off it! It’s a great drill press, I recommend it, with no reservations!

Congrats on the press! This came up in my feed. Solely as a FYI, indicating the chuck itself only tells you something about its external manufacturing tolerances, not the machine's runout. Same goes for indicating the quill, as some have done in their videos. It's best to chuck a standard, then indicate it about an inch down from the jaws. The rule of thumb is that the standard should be about half the size of the chuck's capacity. Finding a standard that's concentric and straight within a tenth or so isn't easy. I went through 250 gage pins to find a handful that met the criteria. I work on vintage drill presses and tend to get a little nutty when it comes to runout. As an example, I cannot accurately indicate the runout on my main press with a tenth indicator with .010" travel. It's that low. If you become a little nutty about runout, too, post back and I may be able to help. Good luck.
