I would argue that Gray did not, in fact, properly test the Chop Myth.

Chop Myth: "Chop will fetch the ball from any stranger."

Gray: (proceeds to shoot a ball himself)

Gray, you are NOT a stranger to Chop! I also have to question whether your "Ball Ammo" is considered a "Ball" or a "Weapon Projectile" or both. Because it's possible that because your are shooting the ball out of a gun, it's no longer considered a ball and, thus, Chop doesn't care about it. He's not going fetch a bullet.
