Just something for anyone who isn’t experienced just to add to this video if you look at the white ball and see the difference for when the cue flies and when you follow through that when you follow through with the white ball you have more control and more back spin so remember most important tool in pool is the ability to control the ball so stay down on the table and follow through

If you want to get the absolute maximum spin you have to throw the cue but you are much more likely to pot the ball and not miscue with a smoother shot following the cue trough the ball

for short backspin yes lifting the stick isnt necessary. i suppose a player like yourself isnt an amateur anymore so i would say this kind of backspin for you is easy 10 out 10 but trying a long deep screw is a bit more challenging. ive been trying to perfect the long deep screw for the past year and i can say with experience that when applying long deep screw the stick lifting ONLY after hitting low and following through, that lifting does indeed adds extra spin on the ball

Bullshit. You can do a pirouette after the shot is made and it won’t affect the spin. Point of contact, direction of force, and amount of force when contact is made, are the variables that matter.
