Replacing trailer boards? Way easier than cutting steel and welding. Bending timber is faster and efficient. A bit dangerous?

That’s why I buy Holmes Trailers, they have a removable steel bar on the front which makes it very easy to replace the boards.

I cut the retention bar from my brother in law wood bed trailer. We replaced the boards and I welded the retaining angle iron back in place. I told him to take this 5 gallon bucket of water and cool all of my welds as I turned to put up my welding gear. As I finished, he drove away. I saw the UNDISTURBED bucket still full of water and noticed smoke coming from the back of his trailer. I divided water into two buckets, put them in the back of my pick up, and chased after him. By the time I got him to stop, the trailer was on fire. I used all of the water to extinguish the fire and the rest to cool the steel. I told him that I told him to cool the weld. He said he didn't think he needed to and didn't want to waste the water.😂 People are dumb!

Lol. Those trailers are designed with two different depths of receiver angles. Very simple install if done correctly.

That's why triple crown trailer have a piece of angle that's bolted down to hold the boards down and make easy replacement for in the future

Bevel cut each end of board on the bottom side. It will slide in position easier.
