How companions feel in hardcore mode

I never had the stomach for hardcore mode. Call me weak but I just don't want to see my companions die. Anyway vault 22 spooked me when I was young. Something about the plant people made my skin crawl.

I vizualized Veronica charging at a Mother Deathclaw yelling "For the brotherhood" as a continuem for this golden clip. Happened to me once, i was trying to spot Mother Deathclaw via sniper's lens and suddenly i hear "For the brotherhood" loud and clear. I cried in laughter. Oh the memories...

I had to force myself to play hardcore mode, just for the achievement. The fact that the best characters in the game can die is legitimately terrifying when I was a kid. Now, I just go out of my way to get the best gear for them, now that I can practically beat New Vegas blindfolded.

I remember an INSANE last stand at the end of Boone’s personal quest at Bitter Sprigs Refugee Camp. It was legendary. I barely survived, and Boone survive with the LAST speck of his health on hardcore. Made that last stand as brothers all the more memorable.

if a companion dies I WILL reload my last save no matter what. completed almost every companion quest in Hardcore mode (I forgot Lily's, forgive me) and I couldn't stand to see them die. They were all too precious

Same. I literally do not do the quest until I have the Rebreather. I know it's not a gameplay feature, but the idea of breathing those spores freaks me out.

I just load the last save when a companion dies. Saves me the stress of having dogmeat get torn to pieces when he charges a deathclaw.
