Thats the Kvochur's bell maneuver . this maneuver was first performed by Kvochur himself ( a Russian test pilot) in a su-27.

This maneuver is called a Kvochurs bell. The missle, which is a lock on, would just loop back and say thanks. Also, the pilot, which was basically dead as the missile looped around, should pf just performed a half kulbilt (I think I spelled that wrong), and just kamikazee lol.

That’s a Kvochers bell, you split the throttle and use the opposite side rudder while using the yoke to go back and point it in the direction you hit the rudder with

Missiles are not flying straight at the jet, so when you change direction in the last moments, there is no way the missile can manoeuvrer to hit it. The rate at which plane slows down is brutal, its 11+Gs and its life saving in those situations to have a plane that can do it. However, not every situation is the same, so there can be a scenario where it doesnt save you.
