When neon came out she had a “feature” where she could super slide they found that out in the pbe and fixed it there. So if there is something they can find in the pbe they fix it there but since no one goes in looking for bugs or broken strats they don’t do much in the pbe

They haven't even opened up PBE recently with new agents. Like after announcing an agent they close PBE for the time being until the agent is already fully released

people really be asking what is pbe in the comment its public beta environement. Certain content creators and some people who apply to it get access to pbe its basically the update version of the game which is going to come out later

It is mostly for making sure most bugs don't go to the live servers and as you mentioned in the video, a place for content creators to showcase content before it is released on live servers making the players more aware and know what to expect for next patch

It's about the free skins. Literally everyone I know who has pbe (including me) don't care about the new update, they just check their markets every day to get all the skins and it's useful too: if you are thinking of buying a skin on your main account and you get it on pbe before your main account, you can "test" it out to see how you really feel about it.

As a game dev (not a riot dev) public beta builds can be put out between patches to gauge public response to the character as well as to find common bugs over a wide skill level. A development team rarely has a wide skill level of players on it, so they won't think to use abilities in a certain way. No riot dev looked at sage and then said "yeah she could be used in stupid ways" they just thought "wall make slow, slow orb make slow, good character to slow" then grim went "haha sage wall go brr". The PBE is more than just bug testing, it's also public reception testing

Hey there, the Public beta environment is not for "balancing" anything, it is for finding and fixing bugs before changes are pushed to release, and many bugs are found most PBEs

Idk i see this guys content sometimes in my 4u but its a 50:50. Sometimes its entertaining, sometimes i feel like its ONLY to rant about something dumb. If u pit 5sec of mind into why a pbe exists u know the answer. Its mainly to test a patch for flaws and bugs. Also maybe a bit to see if something is overly overpowered. But whatever...

to be fair, it's a good way to practice new maps and new agents before they release so that you have an upper advantage

im not sure about valorant but in league of legends, the pbe is essential for game balancing and riot actually listens to the pbe play testers and have changed or cancelled many things because of pbe in the past, i feel like in valorant, there are no dedicated pbe play testers who cares about giving valueble feedback, they are just there to use skins or characters for content etc, it will take a few years until the valorant player base takes pbe seriously and give valuable feedback towards riot like in league of legends

the pbe isnt made only to test new maps, feature and agent. Its to see how the game will handle the update and to find the bugs before the patch goes to the mane game. And for pre release hype.

When I joined the PBE I read everything and it's main purpose is to report bugs to the subreddit and they fix them before it is released. Not really about balance changes

Pbe in league has been around for ages and helps a lot with bugs mostly, but sometimes with balance

Honestly In my opinion, I think the PBE is just something to hype everyone up about. It’s kinda like a taste tester before the major update comes out. I thinks it’s also to test out if there’s any game breaking bugs/glitches.

I think people don't realise how much goes into creating and maintaining a game of this scale. A balance patch in 2 weeks sounds pretty quick tbh.

It's insanely difficult to balance agents and champions in the pbe since it such a small sample size. Moreover most games in pbe are not match as fair as the live severs, more often than not, its radiants vs golds or lower or challenger vs silvers and brones. So the pbe have been doing its best job imo, let players play test and report bugs then patch it as soon as the updates hit the live sever

Riot talked about it. PBE is for catching bugs, not fot balance. Because not that many people plays there. And most high elo players don't go there. So crazy strats or mechanics appears on main servers. And then Rito fix it (probably).

They mostly use the pbe's to locate and fix game breaking bugs, like the Neon super slide thingy
