In this video Heimler answers a frequently asked question about AP Government: how hard is it? This question especially comes from students who have already taken other AP history courses, and when compared with those, the answer is certainly different than someone who is taking AP government as their first AP course.

I’ve never taken an advanced classes of any kind before due to learning disabilities but I got recommended to ap gov and I’m scared but extremely proud all my work paid off and I made it to this point

Gonna be starting it in a couple weeks, on a full year basis (thank GOD). It seems like the exam might be harder than APUSH and AP World, just because it requires more specific memorization than the other exams, and has a different type of essay. The actual course load, however, doesn’t seem as bad as AP World or APUSH.

I have AP Gov next semester and I’m quite excited for the class. I took AP Euro my sophomore year (got a four) and APUSH junior year (got a 5). I actually found APUSH to be easier than euro because I was already used to the course load and rigor, while ap euro was really my first taste of ap level work. It’s all about getting the right study habits as early as you can. This made APUSH way more enjoyable for me despite me preferring European history in general. This guy makes great videos and there are so many other awesome summary videos out there. I don’t really recommend college boards videos because I personally think they suck and aren’t helpful at all, but I do recommend them if you just want to get familiar with the format of the exam. Good luck to anyone starting an AP history class or exam this year!

I’ll be honest, I’m a sophomore in AP Gov and our teacher sucks, so I’m relying on these videos heavily to help me understand since I don’t get the textbook which is all the information our teacher ever gives us. And it’s just read from the textbook as homework, we don’t do anything else productive.
