Correct string winding

One wind over, 2 winds under. I've been doing it that way since the '70s when my neighbor who sold me my first guitar showed me. He played Funk and Jazz and drove a very nice 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S painted gold metal flake to match his Fender Stratocaster.

I just wind under under under and has always worked perfectly for me. Only broke 2 strings in 20 years those were in my first year of playing, i tuned high e too high and plink...

The luthiers knot is definitely the way but I've never had any issues the regular way either.

hahaha you are like me I line all my machine Heads up too when I restring mine, it's an OCD thing with me 😆.. I need one of those for my drill though, so efficient. iv been doing them by hand for 20years now 🙈

Must be so much faster with that drill attachment. Takes me like 15m using the standard string winder and like 30m with just my fingers. 😂

That's the way I've been doing it since I learned to do it that way one over two or three under. On the wound strings I go under three max and on the unwound I do under four or five....😊
