The Chinese voice acting seems to be based on the character of the 1980s Chinese live-action adaptation of the source book, and there is a special thing the voice actors did to sound more like a monkey. In the middle of each sentence, they intentionally raise the pitch of certain words, to micmic the sound that small monkeys make.

if you watched Journey to the West before, this Wukong has quite similar voice with the original version. Sun Wu Kong is always a hero to most chinese people and eventually he become a real god with believers in the world. There's some temple of him in this world.

The constant voice breaks in the Chinese dub is what brings life to WuKong, I grew up hearing those random pitched up notes😂

Japanese translation is still more on point than English though, even though the English dub has already far exceeded my expectations.
