Al Fadi is right. There are actually 13 tribes of Israel since Jacob have each of Joseph's sons their own tribe. When we talk about the 12 tribes, we are referring to those who got a section of land in Israel. The tribe of Levi only received certain cities dispersed among the other tribes so they could act as priests.

I have to challenge you on the statement "the British stole everything." Somethings were aquired via questionable methods for sure. However other items, had the British not preserved them, would surely have been lost forever. In some instances the local population simply did not value artifacts from antiquity; had the British not removed and preserved them and they had simply been lost to history, that would also be the fault of the British!

In Europe we have more extensive historic texts that reveals the origins of Islam and Islamic worship at the time closer to Mohammed's creation. Muslims were called Saracens by Greeks and Romans in the medieval times. The name came from the Semitic root is srq "to steal, rob, thief", more specifically from the noun sāriq (Arabic: سارق), pl. sāriqīn (سارقين), which means "thief, marauder". Their idol was actually an ancient d3monic entity.

According to ancient scripts from Knight Templars, the name for Mohammed used by desert Arabs in those days was BAPHOMET (a name for the devil). Baphomet = Mahomed (Mohammed). The muslims used the scream for Baphomet for their protection and blessings whenever they launched an attack.

Gauserand de Montpesant, a knight of Provence, said that their superior (Arab caliph) showed him an idol made in the form of 'Baffomet'; another, named Raymond Rubei, described it as a wooden head, on which the figure of Baphomet was painted, and adds, "that he (the muslim leader) worshipped it by kissing its feet, and exclaiming, 'Yalla'.

The Roman commander Aelius Gallus led an expedition of 11, 000 men to Yemen, through present-day Mecca, 2000 years ago.
When they returned to Egypt a year later, none of those 11, 000 men reported anything about Mecca or Ka'aba.
While the travel report was very detailed

Q85:21-22 only refers to a lectionary (quran = lectionary) that has been preserved. It has nothing about eternal in the text. It does not say who guards it and for how long. I think that it refers to a lectionary preserved by a church somewhere in Mesopotamia. Maybe in a library?

The Samaritans were the ones left behind, but they are different to the Jews who were taken north in religious history too. I seem to recall the have a different mountain for something Holy. As they had this different teaching who can argue which group were the correct knowers of religious history? Perhaps the Samaritans have their teaching passed on for thousands of years and the Exiles got it wrong?

Either way I can't see the Quran being correct either. Its fits neither groups Hebrew history.

Dhul qurnain and his giant brass covered iron wall
Jesus not dying
Ezra supposedly the son of god as claimed by Jews

These 3 have been my “go to” to refute the Quran for over 20 years
