We are following up on an attack that took place in Kenya's town of Mandera near the Somali border. Police have managed to save 25 people from a raid by al-Shabaab militants. At least six people have been killed, however. The attack is believed to have taken place early on Thursday morning. Police say the militants had broken into a public works facility, opening fire randomly at the 33 residents. The border town of Mandera is often targeted by al-Shabaab, which has vowed to continue its campaign of attacks in Kenya until the government withdraws its troops from Somalia.
