PlayStation will bring more of its first-party exclusive lineup to PC, reportedly beginning with PS4 exclusive Days Gone in spring 2021.
In an interview with GQ, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said it was a "straightforward decision" to release more first-party PC ports. GQ's write-up includes the detail that Days Gone will be the first of those PC ports this spring, but Ryan isn't directly quoted as saying so. We've contacted Sony for confirmation on that point. They are also making a new version of PSVR for PlayStation 5 or PS5. In this video DreamcastGuy rants about it. Update: Sony has now confirmed to IGN that Days Gone will arrive for PC in Spring."I think a few things changed," Ryan replied when asked why the company had changed its tack on releasing exclusives for PC. "We find ourselves now in early 2021 with our development studios and the games that they make in better shape than they’ve ever been before. Particularly from the latter half of the PS4 cycle our studios made some wonderful, great games.

Honestly I never saw this coming but hopefully it leads to more big budget PlayStation games! What do YOU think?

I love Days Gone, I can't wait for part2; I just literally 100% Platinum it. This game is so underrated!

I remember when Xbox got dragged for the exact same strategy. Interesting how the narrative changes when it's another company.

Epic buys up PC exclusives with the idea "Hey maybe pc gamers will install our client" and its still has a tiny portion of the market. Also EA, MS, and Activision all went back to Steam. Yet somehow Sony will convince the same people who hate installing a new client to buy a $500 console for 1-2 games a year. Come on now. This is just the start, especially if they plan on getting in on multiplayer. They want the PC/Steam market and eventually they'll do day and date.

People try to make this a console vs PC thing when really you should just be happy that more people are gonna experience these games and more money will go to these studios so we can get more great experiences. Idc what your preferred platform is just enjoy the games and support the developers.

No point in getting ps5 now! PC masterrace is king

Platform exclusivity was only ever good for the companies, not the consumer, so the more people have access to these games the better.

I was thinking about getting Days Gone last summer but I just can't take 30 fps, good thing I waited.

A lot of people giving him sh*t for being okay with this, remember, Sony is moving these games to PC YEARS after the console launch. Microsoft is doing same day PC releases. Not the same.

Strongly disagree with your assessment of this causing more consoles to be sold.

Most of my buddies are PC gamers.
Every one of them are laughing right now saying "See? Why do I want a console when it's coming to PC anyway?" And then they proceed to drone on about frame rate and looks best.

This will not increase console sales.

Andrew House had the right mindset of keeping PlayStation exclusives only on PlayStation & only expanding the multiplayer aspect if needed

People don't buy playstation only for exclusives, if you see the game selling charts GoW only have 12M and the ps4 console sell around 114 million, this all exclusive stuff is only for some % of people

I think the more games Sony put on PC will hurt PS5 sales just like Microsoft putting games on PC hurt the XBOX. I think it would be a very risky move because Sony relies much more console sales than Microsoft does. A game here and there probably won’t hurt, but we all know if the games sell well, there will be more and day one releases would be moronic.

I don’t think putting Sony exclusives on PC will bring more PC gamers to console. Instead, it will do the opposite because I feel PC gamers will expect more games to come and just wait because they have so much selection.

I think it's funny that now that Sony's doing it, it's okay.

if PlayStation games are going to pc wouldn't that mean buying a ps5 is completely and utterly pointless and a waste of time at least in my opinion.
