PS5 Pro Upscales Unpatched 1080p PS4 Games, Here's What It Looks Like

PS5 Pro leaks and videos are coming out left and right this weekend. Even thought there's press embargoes, that's not stopping anyone else from getting the consoles early and showing us the goods. Right now we finally got the confirmed specs from Sony and there's some surprise extra memory in there! And we also got our first quick example of the PS5 Pro setting that let's you enhance the image quality for PS4 games. So let's go over the screenshots and talk it up. You and me. I don't see any real significant difference between image enhancements for Bloodbourne.We just need a remastered version.

The enhanced PS4 Quality just looks like a sharpen filter IMO. Still a nice bonus though.

Honestly that spec sheet for PS5 pro means nothing to me. Time and time again we are seeing how well PS5 run games despite "inferior" specs. The software matters more when they find the know how and optimize it. PS5 pro is gonna surprise people again.

I just want uncapped frames on these games smh. Tons of these ps4 games are capable of running at 100+ frames

If the PS6 is backwards compatible with PS4 and PS5 games, I hope Bloodborne doesn’t act weird on the PS6.

The problem with increasing the resolution on these older games is, that often they don’t actually look better because the games haven’t been designed for higher resolutions so it just looks like you’re applying a sharpening filter

This makes me more excited to get the 5 pro. I assumed it would be a title by title basis where maybe Sony would patch some PS4 games. But to have ALL ps4 games be sharpened is pretty nice.

So basically.
We got our PS4 Pro features back.
Enhance image quality = Replaced Supersampling but the same thing.
Boost Mode = Boost Mode.
Means Dead Island 2 and FF7 remake (PS4 Version's) will now look pretty like the PS4 Pro.
Because right now both of those games only play in 1080p on Base PS5. It's pretty crappy.
I'll also be testing out my entire list of Physical PS4 games (Not the PS5 Version's)

It's still early to say. I'm sure some games will look better than others. But at the end of the day it's a PS4 game. If it doesn't get an FPS patch, then you're not going to really notice too much different. Honestly you could probably just increase the sharpness on your TV for certain PS4 games and get the exact same effect.
But still cool that it's there.
