I never caught the entire Oprah interview, but I did see a clip where she recounted how she met the Queen; she mentioned that Harry wanted to introduce her to his grandmother, and she thought, "oh splendid, I adore grandmothers." Then she expressed surprise that she was expected to curtsy to Her Majesty even though it was a private gathering. What did she anticipate would occur? That Harry's Granny would unexpectedly emerge from the kitchen wearing her best apron, carrying her renowned three bean casserole, and exclaiming "dig in, my grandson has a fondness for hearty meals!"
She was meeting THE QUEEN OF THE UNITED KINGDOM! How can anyone in their right mind expect it to be anything but a formal occasion? It was at that moment I realized she was nothing more than a fibber.
