Thank you so much. Like a dummy, I washed my other key fob (don't ask) and couldn't lock my car. I didn't even know there was a key slot underneath that piece. You have saved me a bunch of worry until I can get a new one.

Hey dude thanks for the great video!  My wife was stuck in the middle of nowhere and couldn't start her Beetle. I found your video and told her what to do  and it worked perfect!  Looks like her key fob battery was dead and nothing in the manual to help.  THANKS!

I have an 07 passat.

My question is how do i get a second key made?

My battery is low on my current key I assume...thanks for showing me how to change it...but...i would really like to have a backup key as well.

Do they have to be specially made?

Someone told me a while back that they were $200. But i see replacement fobs on line for under $25.

I'm confused. Why can't the key be copied just like a house key and placed in one of those fobs?
