Opening a VW Volkswagen GOLF via the hidden key hole lock

Hi, this video shows you how to access the hidden key hole lock on a VW Golf Mk7 2015 model. Other Volkswagen will have a similar procedure. This is useful if your key fob stops working or if you have drained your battery and can't get access via the central locking.

Brilliant tip thank you. Shame VW don’t make it obvious to users. My fob died / no warnings on the dashboard about replacing battery. Wish I had known this at the time!!

When people think futuristic designs are good, but functionality fails. Cars should be intuitive. When a trunk needs to be opened from inside, jusr put a latch. Forr door handles, just put a damn key hole. WTF.

I could have used this today. I picked up my new (used) 2017 Golf Sportvan today from the dealership, and I decided to take the new looking key with me and leave the used looking one in the car. Well turns out the new looking one's battery died. So I had to scramble to find out what battery the key used (CR2025), changed the battery in the key and then got back to my car before the parking time was up (15 minutes). I made it! :D

Thanks. I was having a hard time figuriing out how to put the cap back on properly. I know see that the latch should be pulled first, the cap snapped into place and then the latch let go.

I do this with the valet key since I misplaced my original key, is there any way you can stop the car alarm from going off when you do it? I'm getting kinda tired of people thinking I'm stealing my own car

i did this and put the key in but it wont open it - the lock just rotated infinitly when i turn it and nothing happens - any help pls?

i bought a brand new vw golf, the key fob stopped working, didn't know how to get into the car lol, had to use the 2nd fob to get into the car. thanks for the upload, now i don't have to run home if the other fob stopped working too.

but vw f'ed me up, brand new fob worked for few times and then just stopped working, pissed me off
