Why does my Gopro Hero 10 stop recording randomly??? ANSWERED! EASY FIX

Hopefully I'm not the only one..... But I have owned three different gopro cameras and all of them would quit recording randomly. I have found that the culprit is a setting that you can easily find in this video and easily switch off. Im not sure if its a software issue or it thinks I'm saying go pro start/stop recording but I've just found the resolution to not use that feature. Havent had any issues since! Hahaha! THANK YOU! I had NO idea WHY my GoPro Hero 10 was shutting down after a minute or two every time I started recording. It would just cut-off after a minute or two while I was talking and it was driving me nuts! My best friend gave me the camera with two extra batteries because he owns two newer ones, and I am so grateful that he did that for me, but I thought he had given me a GoPro lemon. Even he didn't understand why this camera started doing this after he gave it to me, and, he said that he didn't have a owner's manual for it. Luckily, YouTube University is always here to help. Again, what a simple fix! Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Very helpful.

You are my "HERO"! I have been going crazy with the camera shutting off in the middle of my recordings. I never considered that as a problem. I don't even use the speech feature. I turned that off so quick. I think GoPro should fix this problem, I have had 5 different Gopro models and never had this problem before. Voice control wasn't on. Shoot. Mine kept shutting off at 7 seconds yesterday at the bike park. It wasn't the cold battery issue either it was warm out. And firmware is up-to-date. So frustrating! Glad yours works.

Mine has the same problem, says low battery but the battery is full. I formated the SD, voice control is off but the problem continues

I found this video because my GoPro stopped in the middle of a motorcycle ride today. My voice control was already off. After I re-started, it recorded another hour or so with no problems, but I missed about 30 minutes of footage. No idea why yet.

Bless you. I had formatted the SD card and the camera kept shutting down anyway. I was so glad to find the voice command was set to ON. Turned it off and my current recording is up to 45 minutes. I think it's fixed. Thank you so much!

You just fixed my issue. I have been running tests and my GoPro would randomly stop recording and I could not figure it out. I was conducting a test when you said "GoPro stop recording" and BINGO My GoPro stopped recording LOL. I never remember turning this feature on. Anyway, thanks for the video, I was really going nuts trying to figure out why this was happening. BTW I have 2 GoPros and this feature was only active on one so I thought for sure I had a problem with one of my cameras! 🤣

there are several things that make a go pro black stop recording on their own. Including voice recognition. Also some times your card will need to be a new card must might not have the V-30 or higher desigination on it, , , even some V-30 cards will stop, , , , mine still stops on it's own and I'm still looking for an answer

my voice thing is off and i formatted the sd card but for some reason it turns off. the most ive recorded was 15-20 mins. someone help plz.

Mine doesn’t stop recording it just freezes after about ten mins u can watch the first bit but then it just stops

Wow, there are whole videos trash talking GoPro! Saying never again, lol, Read The Manual! It's just too much to ask of most of us, we should all go read our phone manuals, no telling what cool features we would find. Thanks Dave now I can buy a GoPro. You may want to repost this.

Does it record new files, if you did not format the card?

I just had streaming issue. I lost like last 5minutes of most important part of my stream. It did not even record a video anymore.
I ended my session. took camera off my head and boom. camera is just working, but not recording.
Nothing seemengly wrong. No heat, nothing. Took files from card. Files seem to be okay.
Another video suggsested that "speatch recognission was on, and that caused the problem". Last 5 seconds there where usual noice before captureing stoped. But last second recorded sound was strange indeed.
When I tried to capture new video over unformated SD card, everything works fine.

100% that is an issue. Anytime I say recording in any context it stops. But it still does it all the time.

Haven’t tried it yet. Mine cost me the entire footage of West Coast Thunder Memorial Day ride. Super pissed!!!!😡😡😡😡 So it actually recorded several 5:20 minute videos. And an :18 second video. How do I get it to record an actual long video?
