Never give up your beautiful English heritage. We in the US love you as our cousins, but never ever give up your love for your beautiful nation.

I’m proud to be American despite the fact that our country is a hot mess right now. The UK doesn’t deserve us at our worst. ❤ from 🇺🇸

Good idea? Idk. But it would be very ironic bringing Great Britain into the fold as a state lol

No the UK is a country, proud with their own customs and peoples. We love our brothers and sisters and travel to their country to be around them. Each country has their own unique people and places.
Our own country doesn’t even seem like our USA. Too many agendas and damn scary trends. I wouldn’t want the UK to be subjected to the crazy going on here.

I say yes!! They could keep their heritage, we would just be stronger together! They could keep their traditions. They would only be a greater power with us. ❤🇺🇸🇬🇧❤!

I would leave NYC and move to the state of UK.

Hmmm. That would definitely be a very interesting thing to see. That said, the UK has many things (like universal healthcare) that I don't think would be compatible with the US. Of course, AFAIK, there's nothing preventing individual states from implementing their own internal universal healthcare systems.

I prefer my 32 days paid holidays, 1 year maternity pay for my missus, and free at the point of delivery healthcare. I also prefer food with less additives, and i also prefer my money going further.

Silly idea, of course, but interesting to see how the UK would fit in.
But I wonder - what if it would be four new states instead of one (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland)? Hmmm. Then there would be eight British senators instead of just two - okay - enough of this funny little rabbit hole!

For the sake of argument: UK wouldn't be the 51st state. England (51) Wales (52) Northern Ireland (53) Scotland (54) would take the number to 54 because they would have to be INDEPENDENT STATES with their respective constitutions, checks and balances of independent judicial, legislative and executive branches! Jersey, Gibraltar, and other overseas territories are not difficult to support.

On paper, I would welcome this and it's a nice idea, although there would be a great phase of political (not cultural) assimilation that is an absolute must! A proper understanding of the electoral college is just one such example. Religiously there would be no impact because "the royal family" would transition into a symbolic and religious entity with the King Charles lll becoming only the head of the Anglican Church and " a cultural British symbolic entity" The only power he would yield is over the Anglican Church and it's congregation. This would give a breath of relief to the British Catholics too.

I can go on and on. Who knows maybe one day. After all The UK is our closest ally! Cheers from the USA! ✝️🇺🇸👋

I don't see you giving up driving on the wrong side of the road. And think how that population would alter our politics. With that many electoral college points & congressional seats they could get our national sport changed to cricket & tea officially to replace coffee as our official morning beverage.

No, I love the UK as it is. They are a breath of fresh air from the U.S.

As a Brit, my Country DOES feel different to me since the Queen passed. It feels like it's 'feel' character and image has changed. I'd be more happy to do something like this now than before.

As a Scot I think this would be an exciting possibility if we could take on the American written constitution and have the ability to carry guns by right and that free speech was fixed in that constitution! Not only that we might get our Health service sorted out and stopped being a political football! We could also get the dispute with the EU sorted out without any delay as they would then be the lesser party!
