This is kinda like the kid who runs away from home and makes it big!!
He's not going to rob his parents. He's more likely to help Mom and Dad than to beat them up.

There are actually boneyards in the US where hundreds of thousands of obsolete aircraft are kept. Some are intended to salvage materials or for spare parts. Some are covered for protection but most are just out in the desert to scrap.

I looked online. We have 450 military bases in the US. 750 in other countries.

Interesting breakdown.
Being an American who greatly values our alliance and the British people, I hope and pray this never happens.

As an island the British are vulnerable to a blockade. The Germans tried that in WWII, but were thwarted by the Americans whose liberty ships supplied the nation to keep up the fight against Nazis. You can't fight without food and fuel, so a blockade would bring down the UK.

Love hearing mom say, the UK should invest more money into the military.

I could never imagine a scenario where that would happen. We like each other too much!

With what we now have, it will not even be a short skirmish.
Not that we would ever start such a thing with the UK.

I would love to hear more about Jersey from your perspective!

The UK actually needs to invest more into the Navy, Air Force, and some Ground Forces, especially Special Forces. It's an island, so it needs ships, subs, and carriers to go anywhere.

You mentioned where do we store all the air crafts for a carrier group. They are normally sent to U.S. naval air station's around the world. Carriers never come into port with any aircraft actually on them. They need to be underway to launch fighter jets. Same with the British navy. We learned a hard lesson December 7th 1941. Pearl harbor the U.S. navy has been spread out ever since. I live in a navy town. Sometimes British ships as well as Carriers and other vessels from other friendly nations come to America for training. They always send their fighter squadrons to land at the Naval Air station usually a couple days before the carrier arrives.

You know we love the UK. It is our parent country. I know we fought a few wars but we always remember our heritage.

Yes, you should do a tour of Jersey video.

My friend is a welder working on the Virginia Class subs. He told me it's massive. One bay has like a dozen missile pods.

I would love a video on the German bunkers and such left from WW2 and a look-see of Jersey. Great Idea!

I think Europe should have simulated wars with the U.S. where the U.S. cuts off logistics and intelligence with them and see how well they could defend themselves from an adversary. How they would stage attacks and repel them.

American, that war would never be ok with our population. We’re family. You don’t have the military we have because you don’t need it, you have us!

Vicki, our aircraft are stored at military bases that are all across the world. Also, there are those that are always on the actual air craft carriers themselves. So, we don't have all those planes sitting around stock yards here in the US. One big plus for having so many bases across the world, they all cannot be hit at the same time.

At 7:50 your mom is 100% right. we(america) keeps its planes in huge yards in desert areas because humidity aka water is terrible for metal because of rust. But these yards are called "boneyards" because its mostly retired aircraft. They re-service the parts from the old aircraft to use in the still functioning and in service aircraft. Most jets in service are kept in hangars near the airstrip to protect from the elements :)
