ADHD
Here’s a snippet from this month’s podcast with Bruce Perry, M.D., Ph.D., who is considered the WORLD’s leading expert on childhood trauma (this episode is NOW available for FREE on iTunes, Spotify & YouTube, link below fam!).
Did you know that stressful life events, especially Childhood Trauma, can predict ADHD symptoms in some cases? Childhood trauma & negatively biased memory are risk factors for ADHD symptoms as well as inattention & hyperactivity/impulsivity symptom clusters. Strong associations have been found between abuse/neglect & ADHD in childhood & also in young adulthood! Extremely stressful or traumatic events, EVEN in the first few months of life, leads to a higher likelyhood of obesity, diabetes, asthma & anxiety when these kids become adults. This is such an important lesson for all of us, investing in our youth is a MUST! At birth, I was pulled out head first with tools by the doctors. I have these two marks on my forehead.
that could be the reason behind my adhd? or the reason where my mom was tortured while i was in the womb?
