Great content! Nice explanation.. Just some comments, you can call yourself a 'Draftsperson' right off the bat in an office producing drawings.. Some do call themselves building designers.. but, to become a registered, or licensed/ practicing Building Designer, you have to apply through state licensing.. In QLD we have the QBCC who can issue the 'building design license' (low/ medium/ open in height).. You have to have minimum 2 years work experience in a firm and apply and present 5 jobs/ projects you have completed from conception through to construction whilst working under someone licenesed.. You also have to keep up with licensing fees/ insurance and if you're with the board of building designers, CPDs to stay part of that board.. Anyways :) hehe.. thought that more or less gives more clarity between drafters and building designers in modern terms (based in QLD, Aus)...
