Really should not neglect the fact that our founding fathers repeatedly did not have anything good to say about democracy, choosing instead to spell out functions of governmrnt to the federal government, with the intent to limit the federal government, and let the states and people be freer to govern themselfs.

I was 59 years old in 2015 after Trump announced his candidacy I was complaining to a respected friend about how every Presidential candidate for whom I voted made policies that were not in my best interest. We thought of ways we could protest the offence of a man in office. We failed to find an answer that was legal. The discussion led us to look at the Declaration of Independence.
Of course, everything was familiar until I saw the last phrase. Suddenly, I understood why politicians can do whatever the heck they want to.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, ”
Did you see it? “Governments…deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, ”
I made several exclamations of an explicit nature. I had read the Constitution and the Declaration many times in my lifetime. Only now did I read it with some understanding.
What if don’t give our consent? Wait! HOW DO WE GIVE OUR CONSENT? The answer electrified me. When we vote we are giving consent for the government (goober-mint) to govern or rule over us. No wonder they think they are Lord’s over God’s heritage! You don’t like something and the politicians from Congress to President rule the other way and you have already given your consent.
I live in Texas. The swamp has very little effect on my life. They can say whatever they want to. Texans won’t comply.

I will probably never vote again because I am fine governing my own life. I won’t do anything that goes cross purposes with God so let them legalize all the fag marriages they want. (NO I’M NOT POLITICALLY CORRECt.) I don’t care if every neighbor I have wants to be homo (As adults, we should be honest and call it what it is). Their choice has no effect on me. I’m still going to love God and others even if they want to believe something contrary to what God says.
Liberty is the right to choose. Freedom is the result of making the right choice.

sorry, no. saying our republic is a democracy is like saying a monarchy is a democracy. the founding fathers hated democracies and our government is designed on that ideal. get rid of the 17th amendment.
