Capcom's Forgotten Pokemon Game

In the early 2000s, many game companies found themselves trying to catch up with what Pokemon was doing at the time. It was a heavily monetized product that consumers would happily buy not one but two copies of what was essentially the same game. From there, others looking on turned to their own games and asked how they could apply that formula to what they own. This was Capcom's attempt.

I was just talking about this series with my little brother the other day. It’s been years and they still get brought up whenever we talk about the GBA. Amazing series.

I see why you would call Battle Network Pokemon. I love both series of games but I Pokemon is too rigid and easy to be compared to anything else. Megaman Battle Network at least changed significantly from game to game. Program Advance as a concept is also hella cool.

Weird short story. A buddies little brother played this game series so much on an emulator back to back that all the flashing lights and general screen brightness of his monitor made his eyes bleed. Great game series. 10/10.

I’m loving what your doing here. You should make a video on the old Donkey Kong Country games. Those games got me into video games.

These were my first Mega-Man games, and they still hold up great. I really hope they release a collection on the Switch.

I remember playing mega man battle chip challenge and mega man battle network team colonel back in the day on my GBA - those games really were ahead of their time and provided me with so much entertainment as a kid

I love the 'Mega Man' games. When I was a kid in the 1990s, our library had games you could rent out. One of them was 'Mega Man X.' From there, one of the first games we got was 'Mega Man 8' and onward to most of them. 'Mega Man: Battle Network' is still a high contender for me as far as solid a blend of gameplay and story-type games. My favorite game(s) might be 'Mass Effect, ' but there will always be money in my budget if a new/remastered 'Mega Man' comes around.
