Dad jokes never get old, even though dads do. Way to go.

The speed that you speak makes understanding what you say very easy. Even without english subtitles. I felt very confident with my listening. Thank you so much, Wes. Hugs from Brazil.

Wes, I agree that the ability to comprehend jokes is a pretty accurate way to measure one's fluency. However, it doesn't cover all bases because some native speakers simply have no sense of humor. One prominent physicist, a Noble laureate (not divulging the name just for you to have fun guessing), has once quipped that learning English is easy since even the most inane Englishmen are nonetheless fluent in English.

The one I liked the most was the joke about the woman at the bank checking her balance 😂

I have been working really hard to get to B1, B2 and I have. Now my goal is to get to C1and C2, but sometimes I feel that I am hardly working 😂 because it's hard and at the same time exciting!

Thanks a lot for your wonderful lessons.

It took me some time to understand some, but I knew I would. I'm slow in Spanish (my mother language) too. Great video! Very original! Thank you!

Excellent ! Even though I considere myself in a comfortable level speaking English, jokes are hard because of slangs or need to know the people and culture involved . Do more of those, please ! Loved it 🙏🏻🌷✨🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I personally find British humor is a bit more varied than American. I may be wrong, but It feels like most of the American jokes are based on double meaning or double interpretation of words and phrases. Its always a pretty simple pattern like: statement, expectation, confusion, tension, release. Similar to pop music harmony that goes unexpected way at the end. And most of the time relatively easy to understand if you know the words and meanings. I wish i could translate jokes from my native language into English, but they are deeply relying on culture and language nuances, the meaning will just fade away.
