Some things I'll never get over are the obvious ways in which the game has you waste resources.

Pick up a fairly nice sized rock, only ever get 1 skinny little slice of rock for a tool. Like, obviously our guy isn't gonna be able to make 5 tools out of 1 rock fresh off his flight, but logically, he'd be able to make atleast 2 somewhat consistently after some practice. Like, does he eat the rest as a snack? Mmm crunchy.

Leaves that look like you'd be able to yank them off the plant requiring you to smack them and break them off so you can pick them up off the floor. Our boy who can fashion a stone tool out of a rock with no visible crafting tools, cannot pick leaves by hand.

Speaking of things you'd logically be able to grab without a tool: live small crabs and small fish. They aren't very big and with some practice you'd be able to pick the crabs up without them being able to hurt you. Usually.
