Hey everyone! Thanks for taking time to check out my video! To clarify, my gameplay is on PC. Console seems to have a few different features than the PC version, causing differing results. Nothing critical but I did want to acknowledge and list them here.

- The 'TIRED' status seems to be Console specific
- Console has a 5th interactive shark, the "Black Tip Reef Shark"
- Small rafts have been reported to flip but this seems to be Console specific as well

If anyone comes across more, I will list them here. Cheers!

Tip #7 correction: You can leave *most* things on the beach and not worry about them despawning, but potatoes are an exception. If you find a potato, store it away in a crate immediately.
Tip #17: You can use a worn- out refined axe to build a plank station and then destroy the plank station. This will reward you with a brand new 100% durability refined axe.
Tip #18: Refined spears are best used for killing threats on land, especially snakes and giant boars. Don't use them in the ocean because you probably won't get them back.
Tip #24: If you only place 2 containers per shelf instead of 3, you'll have a more clear field of view.
Tip #27: Base building is fun and adds to the immersion, but is really just a waste of time and resources if your goal is to escape.

A couple bonus tips...
Tip #31: Throw a spear into the ground and tip your liferaft up on it. This will provide shelter from the sun.
Tip #32: When visiting other islands, build a shelter on the beach pointing home. This way you can always find your way back.

TIP: The first thing I do BEFORE I build my base is to walk/swim the perimeter of the island and use a triangle foundation to COVER every purple spiky, so I never accidentally contact one. This makes it so I can come to shore without having to remember where they are.

This game's sat in my library played with a very short amount of time. I love open world survival, but I didn't immediately love Stranded Deep. I'm going to give it a try again though, some of these tips like like they can improve the quality of life quite a bit. Thanks!

Tip 10 correction Smoked meat does eventually spoil, but needs to be left alone for 105 days to spoil... unless you build a base on an island and get storm-turned, ending up lost heavily and somehow cannot find you base again for over 100 days... (Yeah I did, turned out the island I kept ignoring thinking "No thats already been looted, no need to go there" was the island I needed to go to... F No compass Runs..) Then again that might be console specific, and last I played was on Ps4 around feb 2023 so take that with a grain of salt

I’m trying the game again for the 10th time… The learning curve from the beginning of the game is brutal. I couldn’t survive so thankfully I was able to learn the mechanics of the game difficulty. The user interface is absolutely terrible. In my opinion… I kept bringing up the crafting menu, and… I know this sounds ridiculous… But I didn’t know you had to click multiple times to go through the crafting menus like buildings but now I’m excited to play through. Thanks for the good video and tips and tricks.

Thanks for the tips! I saw one guy who hung lanterns in his base house. Easier to see at night. If I get some lanterns, I am going to do something like that and also hang a lantern or more on the shore of the islands I have already visited, until I have them all figured out.

Tip 31: you cannot be envenomated once you’re envenomated, but snakes can still damage you. Also, venom only lasts 3 full days. Stay fed, stay hydrated, stay home, and sleep at every opportunity without exiting the game and you’ll overcome the venom. Tip 32: The compass on the gyrocopter doesn’t count as using it. Neither does adding compasses to your inventory, just don’t open them.

I have certainly had my raft flip in a storm. A medium sized one.

Follow up to Tip #2: This is especially helpful during the day, and when combined with the sun's reflection on the water. Follow the white glistening trail in the morning to head east.

I went for a few days without sleeping and gained the 'tired' status effect. I was no longer able to sprint. It could have been caused by something else but I'm pretty sure my food and water were fine

these are great tips! i just started playing stranded deep again, the first time i barely survived 2 days and gave up but im a week in now!

and if you have a torch (i got lucky and found 2 in crates) the night is a great time to do work under the sky or sail because you don't have to worry about UV.

and in the early game USE THE LIFE RAFT!! i keep a torch and compass in the little storage bag so i always have them :)

There IS a penalty for not sleeping. I experienced not being able to sprint, for not having slept for long. The game said I needed to sleep.
