That is unless you live in a building so fragile that it actually rocks back and forth like. Your biggest risk is landslides. For Haiti to have catastrophic damage like that from a 4.9 means all the construction should be condemned.

In Japan we get a 4.9, flip on the television just to know how strong it was, call the old folks just because of the excitement--though my mother-in-law's building it's like it's made of cardboard boxes--and go back to what we were doing within about five minutes.
